        These sites are usually not trying to sell you credible "test improvement" material. Only professionals, including Psychiatrists and Psychologists (PhDs), are permitted to administer and most importantly interpret IQ tests. They don't buy their materials or learn about them on sites that offer fake tests. They purchase them straight from the publishing companies that have developed valid and reliable measures of cognitive functioning like the Wechsler series. If they are trying to sell you something, buying it may be a more accurate reflection of one's intelligence than the actual "assessment" tool.
