A popular misconception is that you cannot make macaroni and cheese if you don’t have both milk and butter or margarine. This is fiction. You can pull off mac and cheese as long as you have one or the other. For example, if you lack milk, then you can make some by combining water with some extra butter and maybe some mayo. Sounds strange, but it ends up tasting just as good or better this way.

      You don't need milk or butter/margarine. All you need is water and a pouch of powdered "cheese" from Kraft. Those new Easy Macs are a wonderful thing.
